The 12th SEA games were held in Singapore in 1983. We won 38 golds and came out 4th in position before Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand.
Personally I find the design on this coin a little lacking. It is simple, kinda reminds of a couple of stick men and a deliberate attempt to cover up a large reminder of the empty space by filling it with the words “5 DOLLARS”. Needless to say, this is not one of my favorites unfortunately.
The numismatic premium on this coin won’t be much but there is also a silver proof version with a lower mintage.
